GEORGE TOWN: Three officers from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrived at Komtar on Monday (July 6) morning.

They were at the third floor of the state administrative building at 9.55am to record statements from state executive councillors Phee Boon Poh and Chong Eng on the controversial Penang undersea tunnel project.

Earlier, scores of journalists and photographers who were waiting at the 53rd floor were asked to leave by security personnel around 9.35am.On Friday , MACC officers visited the offices of state Public Works, Utilities and Flood Mitigation Committee chairman Zairil Khir Johari and Deputy Chief Minister II P. Ramasamy on the 52nd floor of Komtar.

Former Penang Port Commission chairman Jeffrey Chew Gim Eam was previously remanded for four days from July 1 to 4 to facilitate investigations into the case.
