MACC chief should go on leave, Pakatan presidential council says

The Pakatan Harapan presidential council says Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief Azam Baki should be placed on temporary leave while investigations over allegations of abuse of power and misappropriation of funds involving officers of the anti-graft body are being carried out. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, September 23, 2021.

MALAYSIAN Anti-Corruption Commission chief Azam Baki should be placed on temporary leave pending investigations over allegations of abuse of power and misappropriation of funds involving officers of the anti-graft body, Pakatan Harapan said. Its presidential council in a statement also urged the government to consider the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s advice in forming a royal commission of inquiry to probe the matter.
