LETTER | Sadly, the plight of the consumers is neglected.

| The current Covid-19 crisis is causing a lot of suffering for the people – workers, consumers and families. While the movement control order is indeed vital to bring an end to the health crisis, it would be really helpful for policymakers and politicians to go to the ground to understand the reality of the rakyat and address the situation to reduce the suffering and the burden of the rakyat.

It is good to make face masks more affordable to the rakyat; by beyond affordability, it must be available. Yet, for all the positive announcements and so-called price reductions, face masks are not available for the rakyat. That is the reality. What is worse is that some retailers are taking advantage of the current situation to raise prices. The enforcement division must be aggressive in their efforts to monitor prices as well as take severe action under the Consumer Protection Act, 1999 and the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act, 2016 against profiteering to ensure low and middle-income consumers have continued access to affordable food and other essentials.

Stop fear mongering people!

Semua ministers duduk umah goyang kali. They don’t care less anyone cos they have big fat cash in their bank

Never believe back door govt saying. Enough food!? My foot!!!

Jangan sebar fitnah SKMM_MCMC saifuddinabd ada je lagi makanan asas MuhyiddinYassin kan dah bagi guarantee hari dia dia pergi beli ada je

has been flogging wrong issues and barking the wrong trees. Your should scold hoarders and COVIDIDIOTS

Jahat sungguh malaysiakini.. Org gi kedai biasa menimbun aje telur dan roti. Saje je buat org jadi pembelian panik.

Noticed no egg in mydin since mco. Luckily speedmart still have it.

Egg price slowly rising..

Politicians should go on the ground so as to ascertain the real situation.

Gomen tengok2 lah syarikat ni

Yes. It’s still quite unavailable of such food.

Housemate baru, balik dari econsave, stok banyak dia kata,, sardin, frozen food, beras, bahan2 basah, semua ada... MalaysiaKini, suka bawa fitnah..

Tak sangka sampai mcm ni taraf

apa ni.. nak bagi org panic ke? aku baru pegi pasaraya pukul 5pm.. ada je telor. ko cari telor apa? roti aku tak makan sgt, aku makan nasi.

Setakat ni stock up brg kat Giant mmg ada a few item yg dorg limit kan per purchase termasuk roti hanya 1 per purchase, ayam limit 2 ekoq, minyak masak 5L 1, banyak lagi. Kene faham kalau dulu semua yg pegi shopping xmembeli pun roti tp sejak MCO ni semua membeli.

Hantar Moideen pi survey!

Semua Sheraton Hotel objectives sudah capai. Roti bukan kerja PN

Of cos la ..sbb org dh beli..cer ko duduk terpacak pepagi kt pasaraya ..melambak stok..suka cari pasal

agreed

Hypermarkets and sundry stores should limit the number of main items (ie bread, eggs, rice, etc) purchased by each shopper. Many selfish ones are hoarding like there's no tomorrow.

Ayam xbertelur sbb stayreban

Pergi kedai aceh or the small retail shops. They always have enough supplies. And get the bread early at 8am

Kenyataan MalaysiaKini sangat merbahaya

Malaysiakini yang berhati busuk. Pergi lewat memang lah sudah habis. Kedai runcit semua ada stok roti (kena pergi pagi), telur tiada masalah. Diharap KDNPUTRAJAYA SKMM_MCMC ambil tindakan kerana menyebarkan berita yang menghasut.

roti habis sebab kilang pun dah capai output...

To blame the government alone is unjust. The sellers should take responsibility as well. Limit the quantity of purchase to each person. I encountered one person who bought 4 loaves of Gardenia. Another bought 2 large trays of eggs. It’s attitude. SELFISH!

If the only place you go is those big hypermarket, memang la habis. Everyone go there to stock up. Go another day la after they refresh their stocks. Go to small retailers. They have lots of stock.

Kedai ni, kedai yg banyak tak tunjuk gambar , masa habis masa mereka topup tak tunjuk.. bodohlah yg percaya penjilap2 dap terutama dari mk

Why u showing us an empty snacks shelf tho
