YONG PENG: Those with Learners Drivers Licence (LDL) have been granted another seven months extension to renew their licences from November this year until June 2022, says Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

He said the extension by the Road Transport Department is to help those who are unable to go through their driving test due to the Covid-19 pandemic.“We have been receiving feedback about the expiry of the LDL.“Those with LDL no longer have to rush to go through their driving tests with the extension given. They will have more time to make the necessary arrangements,” he said after visiting a JPJ mobile counter at Kampung Kangkar Baru here yesterday.

He added that mobile counters are helpful for those living in areas that don’t have a JPJ office or post office. On another matter, he said the aviation industry is also prepared for the reopening of tourism sectors in phases.
