GEORGE TOWN: Former DAP strongman Datuk Danny Law, who quit the party he had been with for over 30 years, has caused a shockwave in the state political arena.

Speculation is rife that the former state executive councillor is on the brink of joining Parti Warisan, which recently spread its wings to Peninsular Malaysia.

Goh, the former Balik Pulau DAP division chief, admitted meeting Law but said he had yet to apply to join Warisan. Batu Kawan DAP secretary David Marshel expressed shock at Law’s resignation and said he was baffled by his resignation. Law was fondly remembered as the “Lone Ranger” when he was the only DAP assemblyman after the general election in 1999.
