Kula has no right to know how I got PR, Zakir Naik says in defamation suit

Zakir Naik is demanding compensation from former minister M Kula Segaran for allegedly ridiculing him and depicting him in a bad light.

“The defendant has no right to question or the right to demand from the plaintiff to produce documentary evidence that the permanent residentship status was obtained legally,” Naik said. Naik’s court papers sighted by FMT also said the judge had no jurisdiction to hear and consider Kula’s application as the subject matter was only a defamation suit.

“It is respectfully submitted that the defendant is trying to delay the defamation trial,” it said, adding that the discovery application must be dismissed with costs.

You're right, Malaysian do have the right to know though... And kula represents us in skme ways.

He got it all wrong. Any Malaysian has a right to verify if the process is legit & transparent through legal route. Moreover when he gets a PR instead of asylum seeker visa after being wanted by numbers of countries.

When many Malaysia born citizens still having difficulty to get their MyKad, it is for the interest of the ppl to know how a foreigner can get PR so swiftly. Perhaps other foreigners too would like to know the processes. So why not share?
