Floods are expected in many parts of Malaysia amid a monsoon. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, November 3, 2022.KOTA Tinggi is the latest district in Johor to be hit by flash floods. The state has logged 93 evacuees as of 8am today.
The District Disaster Management Committee said in a statement that a relief centre at Dewan Al-Barakah was opened at 10pm yesterday to accommodate 72 more people from 18 households. “This brings the total number of PPS in operation to three. Two were open earlier, at Balairaya Kampung Batu Badak and Balairaya Kampung Kuala Paya, to provide shelter for 21 people from six households in the Segamat district,” it said.
In Segamat, the areas affected by floods are Kampung Seberang Batu Badak, Kampung Batu 5 and Kampung Kuala Paya, while in Kota Tinggi, the areas submerged in water are Kampung Sri Jaya and Kampung Sri Delima.The weather today is reported to be fine. – Bernama, November 3, 2022.
