Police have detained 11 men aged between 22 and 62 years old for driving while intoxicated in a traffic operation around Kuala Lumpur from Friday (May 13) until Sunday (May 15). Read more at

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Sarifudin Mohd Salleh said the men, aged between 22 and 62 years old, were arrested during the operation conducted at the city centre, Jalan Pahang, Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Kuching, Jalan Genting Klang and the Duke expressway from Friday until Sunday ."We are investigating them under Section 45 of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said in a statement on Sunday.

Seven other men were also detained for riding their motorcycles dangerously and performing stunts, he added."We are investigating under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987," he added."Five motorcycles were also seized for illegal exhaust modifications," he said."We will step up such operations during weekends to ensure the safety of all road users.
