PUTRAJAYA: Lembaga Perindustrian Nanas Malaysia bakal meningkatkan keluasan tanaman nanas di seluruh negara daripada 16,653 hektar ketika ini kepada 20,000 hektar.
Beliau berkata demikian ketika berucap pada Majlis Penyampaian Insentif Pakej Rangsangan Ekonomi Prihatin Rakyat Pengusaha Nanas di Laman Nanas, Serdang, Selangor, semalam. “Buat masa ini, kapasiti nanas negara ialah 400,000 tan bernilai lebih RM500 juta setahun, namun jumlah ini masih belum cukup untuk pasaran MD2 di 20 buah negara dan juga tempatan.
Dalam pada itu, Ronald berkata, terdapat perkembangan positif cadangan mewujudkan LPNM di Sabah bagi meningkatkan hasil pengeluaran dan meluaskan penanaman nanas negara.
