Not always greener: Grass turning yellow in the heat at Saint George’s Church in George Town, Penang.The Muda Agriculture Development Authority and the Malaysian Meteorological Department did cloud seeding operations over Muda Dam and its surrounding areas at 12.30pm yesterday.
On Saturday, Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir said cloud seeding operations would take place after water levels at two dams reached the critical level. The capacities of the Air Itam Dam and Teluk Bahang Dam on Tuesday were at 62% and 39.5% respectively. Penang Fire and Rescue Department director Saadon Moktar said the department was on high alert for peat and bushfires.
