KUALA LUMPUR: The road tax for over 3.78 million vehicles nationwide has yet to be renewed, says the Road Transport Department (JPJ).

Its deputy director general Aedy Fadly Ramli said based on statistics compiled on Nov 15, a total of 3,784,042 people have yet to renew the road tax for their vehicles.

"We estimate that there will be a rush to renew licenses and road tax in the last few days of Dec," he added when speaking to reporters after attending the Ops Sedar operation at the Sungai Besi toll plaza on Friday . "We decided to have these counters available especially to make it easier for those who wanted to come and renew their road tax," said Aedy.

Aedy then said that if the government does not announce an extension to the grace period, the necessary action will be taken against those who do not have their licences and road tax renewed come Jan 1,2022.

This is d sort of indecisiveness that prompt many 2 ignore simple rules. JPJ_Malaysia only need 2 do a prolonged & intensv enforcemnt, instead of pleading like this.
