JOHOR BARU, May 15 — Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar today received the interim report by the Special Task Force set up by the Federal Government to review actions and legal issues regarding the Pulau Batu Puteh , Middle Rocks and South Ledge case.
Also present was the Tunku Mahkota of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim and Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi. Sultan Ibrahim was reported as saying previously that not pursuing the case was as good as admitting defeat even before going into the legal battle in the ICJ. “We declared defeat even before going into battle. Was Johor’s sovereignty not important to the government at the time?” Sultan Ibrahim had questioned.
