The state is seeking for allocation from the Federal Government to conduct upgrading works on the six culvert outlets.
“Despite most of the culverts not being in working order, the water quality in both sides of the Causeway is good but we still need to upgrade the culverts as it is important for seawater to flow and avoid pollution incidents in the future, ” he said. Mohd Solihan, who is also Tenang assemblyman, said this when he attended the Akademi Binaan Malaysia graduation ceremony held at Persada International Convention Centre here yesterday.
He added the Works Department would be conducting a study on the cost of repairing and upgrading the culvert system at the Causeway. “Once we receive the report from the department, the state government will forward it to the Federal Government, ” he said.
