JOHOR BARU: Police will gradually reduce the number of roadblock set up in Pasir Gudang as conditions in the area return to normal.

Johor police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd said that the Disaster Management Committee had performed their job well and worked together with the police to monitor the situation in Pasir Gudang.

"We play the role of monitoring and preventing any attempts by irresponsible industries or individuals to transfer materials that can harm public safety. "In the meantime, other agencies such as the Fire and Rescue Department and Department of Environment can focus on conducting inspections on industries in the area," he said.

He said this when met by reporters after attending the High Profile Policing programme at Jalan Wong Ah Fook, here on Saturday . Also present were Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal, state financial officer Datuk Rahim Nin and Johor Baru Mayor Datuk Amran A. Rahman.
