Datuk Hasni Mohammad said the current situation in the district would not affect the discussions between Malaysia and Singapore.
“What's important is for us to have standard operating procedures in controlling when the border is open for daily travellers, ” he added. He said that Johor had handed its SOP suggestions to the Health Ministry who would forward the matter to their Singapore counterparts in discussing full border reopening.
Johor health and environment committee chairman R. Vidyananthan said monitoring and surveillance efforts would be boosted because of an expected increase in the number of cases in the near future.
