LONDON: Sean Connery, the actor who brought fictional spy James Bond to life, has died at the age of 90, his family has said, the BBC reported today. Connery was the first to bring the role to the big screen and appeared in seven of the spy thrillers.He was often named in polls as being the best actor to have played 007 in the long-running series.
Among his other films in an acting career spanning decades were The Hunt for Red October, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and The Rock.He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 2000. He celebrated his 90th birthday in August.
