Jakim backs Maszlee, fears lessons on other religions will negatively impact Muslims

Education Minister Maszlee Malik said May 19, 2019 that he has rejected the proposal by MBM for the special subject to be introduced alongside Islamic Studies. — Picture by Shafwan Zaidon

Its director-general Datuk Mohamad Nordin Ibrahim said although Jakim does not agree with the proposal, it nonetheless backs cross-cultural programmes in schools and universities, so as to lessen misunderstanding between the faiths. On Saturday, Malaysian Youth Council president Jufitri Joha was reported as saying that the Islamic studies subject currently being taught in schools was good, but it only focused on one religion.

Jakim? Woohoo 🎉 why not all religions be taught outside of class periods. ? All problem solved. Haha 🤣

Those with strong religion belief will not fear or afraid to have other religion understanding. It is up to your own mind to be the judge or else it means you have weak understanding of own religion belief

That puts Islam as lower than other religion.. 😂 Easily can get negative and weak... Well. Its Muslims who degrade their own religion.. Feel sorry for small coconut minds.. 😂

? We shall stop race and religion

When are we gonna de-FUND Jakim from an annual taxpayers' allocation of a whopping RM1-billion directly from the PMO, Prime Minister Office which can be better used to rebuild the country?

It is as if Muslims are always the victims of suggestions to create a more understanding & harmonious society. Are the rest of Msians 2nd/3rd class citizens? That itself is the greatest act of victimisation. Religion is used as a leverage to give Muslims the unfair advantage.

That is consistent in their stance.

Will negatively impact Muslims because they will see how weak Islam is or what?
