The ‘Belt & Road Initiative for Win-Winism’ comic book which sparked controversy following its distribution in schools.

KUALA LUMPUR: Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin says the government’s ban on the controversial comic book “Belt & Road Initiative for Win-Winism” is due to its content, not sentiment or instructions from others. He told reporters at the Parliament lobby here that the investigation into the book had resulted in “solid proof”, adding that it would be banned if found in circulation.“I ask everyone not to read it, and to avoid perusing the book at all as we have already banned it.”

The home ministry banned the comic book yesterday on grounds that it promotes communism and socialism and contains factual errors. It said the book could be “detrimental to public order and safety” as it had elements that could encourage support and sympathy for communism.Muhyiddin said these would be left to the education ministry for further action.
