KUALA LUMPUR: Compounds were issued to 234 individuals while 12 others were remanded for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) on Thursday (March 4).

"The compliance operation task force led by the police conducted 73,659 inspections nationwide on Thursday."Among the locations were 4,621 supermarkets, 3,972 banks, and 1,803 factories," he said in a statement on Friday (March 5).On Ops Benteng, Ismail Sabri said nine undocumented immigrants were detained while six others were expelled from the country on Thursday.

"The authorities conducted 447 roadblocks nationwide, ” he added.Meanwhile, 136,978 individuals have returned to Malaysia since July 24, Ismail Sabri said."A total of 7,733 people are still undergoing mandatory quarantine while 128,373 have been discharged and allowed to go home.

"Another 872 individuals were sent to hospitals for treatment," he said.On a separate matter, Ismail Sabri said 575,295 foreign workers have undergone Covid-19 screenings, involving 30,112 employers."A total of 9,138 foreign workers tested positive while the rest tested negative.

"Currently, 1,508 clinics are involved in the screenings," he said, adding that the screenings for foreign workers were made compulsory starting Feb 1.On public sanitisation operations, Ismail Sabri said 17,772 operations have been conducted nationwide involving 146 zones since March 30 last year.
