PUTRAJAYA: Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob menyeru semua bank dan institusi kewangan komersial memberi pertimbangan sewajarnya supaya tidak mengambil tindakan undang-undang terhadap golongan peniaga mikro khususnya penjaja dan peniaga kecil kerana masih gagal melunaskan hutang.
“Saya amat berharap bank-bank milik kerajaan seperti Bank Simpanan Nasional dan Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad juga mengambil tindakan sama seperti dilakukan oleh institusi kewangan di bawah MEDAC. Beliau berkata demikian ketika berucap merasmikan Majlis Sambutan Hari Penjaja Dan Peniaga Kecil Peringkat Kebangsaan Tahun 2021 anjuran MEDAC dan Pelancaran Program Transformasi Pasar Malam oleh Kementerian Perumahan Dan Kerajaan Tempatan , di sini hari ini.
Kata beliau, bukan sedikit kesan yang menimpa, khususnya kepada penjaja dan peniaga kecil dan ada yang tidak mampu bertahan dan terpaksa terus gulung tikar, tidak kurang juga terpaksa mencari alternatif perniagaan yang lain untuk bangkit kembali.
