KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 4 — Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani is hopeful that the murder of an e-hailing driver in Tawau, Sabah will be taken to court.“Hopefully with the information obtained, we hope that the prosecution can make a case to charge those involved in the incident,” he told reporters at the Bukit Kiara Federal Park here for the city police contingent’s hiking programme with the local community.

Acryl said the eight policemen suspected of involvement are under a remand order that will expire on February 8 as “some finer details need to be investigated”. The body of a man who has since been identified as 61- year-old Nurman Bakaratu was found beside an e-hailing car in a Tawau oil palm estate on Jalan Anjur Juara, off Jalan Apas in Batu 5 on January 13.

His 33-year-old ex-wife Nurima Juli was charged in the Magistrate’s Court with murdering Nurman on January 30.Several other people, including the eight policemen, were later arrested.
