The Huawei Nova 9 and Huawei Watch GT 3 will launch alongside the MateBook 14s in Malaysia next week. The Nova 9 looks like an Honor 50 without 5G and GMS.

Similar to the Honor 50, the Nova 9 gets a 6.57″ Full HD+ OLED display that pushes a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it also runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor but itdue to the ongoing restrictions from the US government. In China, the device is configured with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

The camera bump design is similar to the Honor 50 as well. Instead of a 108MP main shooter, the Nova 9 gets a 50MP main camera that uses an RYYB sensor which claims to allow 40% more light compared to a traditional RGGB sensor. It also gets an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and two 2MP shooters for depth and macro. Upfront, the screen has a single punch-hole to house a 32MP selfie camera.

Powering the Nova 9 is a 4,300mAh battery that supports 66W Huawei SuperCharge via USB-C. Despite being a 4G-only device, it still supports 802.11ax WiFi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2. It would be interesting to see how much the Nova 9 will be priced in Malaysia as the Honor 50 is priced from RM1,699 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model while the higher-spec model with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage is priced at RM1,999.

To recap, the current Huawei Watch 3 is priced at RM1,699, while the Watch 3 Pro is going for RM2,199.
