CORONAVIRUS | An estimated 30,000 employees in the hotel sector have lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

CORONAVIRUS | The outbreak of Covid-19 saw one hotel after another closing down, leading to thousands, or even tens of thousands, of the hotel employees with no source of income.

Malaysian Trades Union Congress president Abdul Halim Mansor said hotel workers are the worst affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, with some forced to go on leave, take unpaid leave or pay cuts, and there are those who were laid off.
