PETALING JAYA: The Health Ministry has reported two new Covid-19 clusters in the country, with three positive cases of Covid-19 detected so far.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the clusters were Bukit Tiram in Johor and Kuching Construction Company in Sarawak.

“The Bukit Tiram cluster recorded two positive cases at a religious centre in Taman Bukit Tiram. They are foreign workers at the centre. “As of July 25, a total of 10 close contacts have been identified, tested and their results are pending.As for the Kuching Construction Company cluster, Dr Noor Hisham said the first positive case was detected on July 11, and subsequently the ministry identified 55 close contacts, who were five housemates and 50 colleagues.

“The cluster was identified when one of the close contacts tested positive on his second test, ” he said, adding that active case detection is also ongoing. He urged Malaysians to continue practising strict hand hygiene, maintain social distancing and adhere strictly to the standard operating procedures.
