Putrajaya topped the list with the highest Rt value at 1.19, followed by Perak at 1.17 and Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, where each recorded 1.16.
“Ten out of the total 16 states and territories in Malaysia recorded Rt values over 1.0,” says Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in his daily Covid-19 updates on Saturday . The Rt value refers to the average number of people that a person who has the coronavirus has infected. “Other states that recorded Rt values of over 1.0 are Kedah , Pahang , Sabah , Terengganu , Melaka and Negri Sembilan ,” Dr Noor Hisham said.
There were 87 deaths from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, with most from Selangor , followed by Johor and Pahang .“Another was a 35-year-old man without any history of medical illness,” he said.This brings the total number of active clusters in the country to 870.
