IPOH: A total of six flights to and from the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport here have been called off due to the haze, affecting almost 800 passengers on Friday (Sept 20).

Airport general manager Mohd Ali Osman said two AirAsia flights and one from Scoot, which were scheduled to touch down here between 9am and 12.50pm, were grounded."Due to this, we have to cancel three flights that have been scheduled to fly to Singapore from here due to poor visibility.

"Those affected included AirAsia flight AK1311 , AirAsia AK6083 and Scoot TR485 ," he said in a statement on Friday .Mohd Ali said tentatively, four flights from Ipoh to Johor Baru and Singapore in the afternoon would take off as scheduled. "We will, however, be monitoring the situation closely for any change later," he said, adding that the visibility at the airport was now at 8km.Conditions in Taiping, Manjung and Tanjung Malim have shown improvement with API readings of 78,90 and 87 respectively.
