Group fights to save Selangor’s betta fish

A GROUP is out to save wild Siamese fighting fish, commonly known as the betta, which are in danger of having their natural habitat in Selangor’s peat swamp forests destroyed for agriculture.

Wild Betta Lovers Malaysia is breeding the fish in tanks before releasing the adults in a safer place, its president Zulkifli Mohd Salleh said. Effective July 2018, access to full reports will only be available with a subscription. Sign-up now and enjoy one week free access!
