This is more than double the allocated amount for the year due to high global commodity prices.

The government is expected to cover fuel and cooking oil subsidies up to RM8 billion, which is RM4.22 billion higher than the RM3.78 billion allocated for this year. The government has spent RM6.32 billion on fuel and cooking oil subsidies in 2019 and RM2.

16 billion for 2020.
