Like many parishes in this part of the world, the Church of Christ the King, Kulai, owes its early establishment to French missionaries.
Due to Kulai’s rapid development in the 1950s, this chapel quickly became a place of worship for Catholics within a 15mile radius. During his tenure, Fr Jego built a paternalistic relationship with the parishioners through the great love and concern he bestowed on his flock. He used to give away daily necessities like clothing, milk powder, butter, rice, and so on to the poor and disabled parishioners around Kulai.
When he left the church in the late 1980s, he increased the building fund by an additional $30,000.00.
