Airlines are set to post a collective net loss of US$39 billion this quarter as the majority of their aircraft are grounded to weather lockdowns and travel restrictions. IATA said it expected government fiscal International Air Transport Associationmeasures and central bank action to feed through to higher travel demand from the fourth quarter, after a widespread second-quarter lockdown and continued weakness in the third.
