"I agree with the public's positive view to ensure that any decision will be not be seen as troubling defaulters," he said when asked about his views on the PTPTN's proposal to reintroduce a travel ban to loan defaulters.
"I am will support the people's will, and I feel that the public will disagree with any harsh actions, especially for those who have yet to get a job. "Why do we want to burden them, that is my view," said the Port Dickson MP. In a media briefing earlier on Thursday , the PTPTN management said it was also looking at several other options to improve study loan repayments.
“If the people are for it, we will bring it up to the Cabinet, but the decision is not in our hands,” he said when launching a public consultation initiative at the PTPTN headquarters earlier on Thursday.
Bared Travel is a 'Jungle Law'. JKKK kampong make fighting among them.. Tutup Jalan.. to Childish. The Officers must work hard or work smart .. Malaysia is small country, mean officer be able to chasing borrowers .. we have technology, to make it simple just use Jungle Law.
What you mean? Defaulters need to be punished sir.. They deprive others of getting a loan..they take it happily like its free..dont need to gain popularity on this issue sir...as rakyat we will decide again in GE 15..nothing stays permanent in this world sir.
How can it be justifiable to let this go on . My tax money paying for people that take advantage of stupid leaders that kept making stupid excuses. We are breeding a next generations of irresponsible adult . Pay back or get their wages garnish .
Saudara Anuar, mana Ada masa, setiap tahun Ada pelajar Baru yg nak masuk Universiti lepas Tingkatan 5 memerlukan bantuan. Lain kali jangan janji yang tak munasabah masa pilihanraya . Haih! Politicians are full of bull S!
PTPTN borrowers had been given too much time to repaid their loans. What kind of borrowers can have such immunity not to repaid a loan they once undertook? Without their sincere repayment, new borrowers will not exist anymore!
Don't they have like a private chat group to discuss before agreeing on what to do and announce it to the public?
Isn't Ur daughter once said waive payback and give free education?
No
The only countries which impose external travel bans are communist countries. Travel abroad is one of the human rights guaranteed by the UDHR, which Malaysia is a signatory. Teringin nak sign ICC konon, tp UDHR yg telah ditandatangan itu pun tak termampu turuti. Poodah.
Yes, I wholeheartedly agree. Give them time, the time to plan and to travel out of the country.
Enough time given.
Good Move Sir , is so Thoughtful of You. There Must Be People Who Are Agree And People Who Are Not Agree. But , I Personally Agree. 👍

A loan is a loan, it has to be repaid in due course.
How long is the time To long already sir... Should stick to travel ban as per previous administration!! anwaribrahim twitptptn
Just implement travel ban if the defaulters unable to make the repayment as we need to ensure that everyone shall have their fair chance of borrowing the PTPTN loan.

Mohon twitptptn munasabah dalam mendidik graduan berhutang. Bukan semua graduan sengaja tak bayar hutang. Ada yang mampu, ada yang tak. Yang mampu patut bayar. Kalau tak bayar, tak patut larang pergi luar negara. Mungkin boleh kutip melalui taksir cukai pendapatan, LHDN.
Ni money 2 repay loans but plenty 2 spare 2 travel abroad. What irony.
Please... if the defaulters want to pay up, they would not default the payment in the first place. There is reason why they are called defaulters🙄
You had 10 points of proposal yet could not find a better way to settle an issue. Instead still opted for the old travel ban which didn’t work effectively on the past
