KOTA KINABALU: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia has no plans to give up the Beaufort parliamentary seat and wants a woman to remain as its candidate.

Sabah Bersatu Srikandi chief Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun, who is Beaufort MP, said the women's wing had no intention to give up the seat for the 15th General Election.

"We will defend the Beaufort parliamentary seat even though it may not be me who is nominated," she said after chairing the Sabah Bersatu Srikandi meeting here Saturday . Sabah Umno wants to contest all its 14 of 25 traditional parliamentary seats in the coming election. The seats would include the five MP seats held by Sabah Bersatu, who is a member of the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah coalition with state Barisan.
