Now, Nissan has given some insights on the future of the GT-R according to this. At a recent preview of the new Nissan Z in Australia, it was revealed that the decision to switch to an electric powertrain for the next generation Z sportscar and GT-R has not been made, according to Hiroshi Tamura, chief product specialist for the Z sportscar and GT-R.
Tamura said there’s yet to be a solution for the powertrain of the two sportscars but whatever the outcome, it needs to ‘delight the senses’ and make enthusiasts lust over them. Tamura was also concerned about the sound of the next generation of electric vehicles with fake noises emitted through speakers.
