Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan said the 35-year-old was arrested in a house in Pasir Puteh at about 1.50pm on Sunday .
ACP Yahaya said the police also seized various items, including jewellery worth about RM13,000 and receipts from pawn and jewellery shops during the arrest."The complainant believed that the jewellery was stolen by a foreign worker who came to clean the house. "The police then launched a special operation and arrested the suspect, about 24 hours after the report was received. We believe the jewellery seized belongs to the complainant," he said in a statement on Monday .He said the case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft in a building."At the same time, operators of pawn and jewellery shops are also reminded to be careful not to deal with stolen items," he added.
