Food prices stable despite MCO, shoppers say

Consumers say the prices of fresh fruits and vegetables have not risen significantly since the start of the MCO, but some note that fish prices have gone up. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, April 7, 2020.

FOOD prices appear generally stable with slight increases for fish and vegetables three weeks into the movement-control order , which has restricted travel and the interstate transport of goods, said shoppers. They told The Malaysian Insight that they have not seen any significant price increase except for seafood, with a marginal increase for vegetables.
