They are currently seeking shelter at 264 temporary relief centers in nine districts namely Batu Pahat, Johor Baru, Kota Tinggi, Kluang, Mersing, Muar, Pontian, Segamat and Tangkak.
Segamat has 10,953 victims from 3,239 families at 72 centres, Muar has 4,739 people from 1,388 families at 26 centres, and there are 4,695 victims from 1,345 families seeking shelter at 35 centres in Kluang. “Rivers in Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang and Kota Tinggi have breached the danger level," the statement read.
Four roads in Kluang are non-accessible to all vehicles – Jalan Lingkaran Kahang Barat at FTPSB workers’ hostel, Jalan GSA Chamek at GSA Chamek bridge, Jalan Kota Tinggi-Kluang at the Ulu Penggeli bridge and Jalan Kota Tinggi-Kluang at Taman Sri Impian/Kopketa traffic light junction.
