The State Disaster Management Committee said the number of flood victims in the state stood at 44,860 as at 8am Sunday , compared to 42,704 at 8pm Saturday.
"The largest number of evacuees is in Batu Pahat with 14,030 people, followed by Segamat with 13,334 and Kluang with 5,296. "So far, there has been no new alert from the Malaysian Meteorological Department regarding thunderstorms," it said in a statement here Sunday. The other affected districts are Muar with 4,055 victims, Kota Tinggi , Tangkak , Mersing , Johor Baru , Pontian , and Kulai .
A total of 23 river monitoring stations from seven districts in the state have also recorded dangerous water level.
