People's Volunteer Corps honorary Commissioner Datuk Seri Michael Chong said the group included the founder of Lala Chong Kayu Ara Seafood Restaurant Yim Sie Chong and organising chairman Ken Hng."The donations came from friends and associates as well as tips from customers of the restaurant.
"We bought personal protective equipment, bedding, bedsheets, towels, food and daily necessities for the villagers," he said when met at the MCA Public Services and Complaints Department on Tuesday ."We chose to help these people as they were overlooked during previous relief efforts.Chong also urged others to come forward and offer a helping hand, especially to those who were overlooked."I hope we can help them get through this period," he said.
I think Michael Chong is the face of MCA. He got so much coverage way back when Malay Mail was still in print. Haha.
