State Welfare, Caring Society, and Environment Committee chairman Phee Boon Poh said 66 people currently taking shelter at Surau Kampung Pisang have been transferred to Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Telok here.

Phee said Dewan Perda Timur relief centre which initially housed 11 flood victims was closed at 3.20pm. Almost 200 victims were evacuated to safety to the respective relief centres as water rose between 0.3 and 0.74 metre.

195 flood victims evacuated in PenangThe victims in Seberang Perai Tengah have been evacuated to four relief centres, after over 6 hours of heavy rain. Penang is an island, so is Singapore.
