Magistrate Mohamad Izwan Mohamed Noh imposed the fine on Liew Sea Hai, 43, after he pleaded guilty at the Magistrate's Court in Ayer Keroh here on Thursday .
According to the charge sheet, Liew had carelessly left his front grille open, and this allowed the dog to run out and injure Purba Evita Kristina, 23, in front of house No 5, Jalan Marikh 8, Taman Tanjung Minyak Perdana, here at 9.30pm on July 27. He was charged under Section 289 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of six months or fine up to RM2,000 or both upon conviction.The court also ordered the dog to be surrendered to the Melaka Historic City Council for further action.
