Entrepreneur Development Ministry may take over halal industry development

Entrepreneur Development Minister Mohd Redzuan Yusof says the move may streamline efforts at developing the halal industry and making it easier to manage. – EPA pic, August 17, 2019.

THE Entrepreneur Development Ministry is studying placing the development of Malaysia’s halal industry under its ambit. Its minister, Mohd Redzuan Yusof, said, however, certification would remain with the Islamic Development Department with the continued involvement of the International Trade and Industry Ministry to award the Malaysian standard.
