Pada hari pentahbisan diakon, Elvost diapit oleh sponsors, Mr&Mrs Stephen Muoki yang mewakili ibu bapa Elvost yang tidak dapat hadir, serta paderi pembimbing rohaninya, Fr Peter Knox SJ. Prelatus itu mengingatkan para calon diakon akan hakikat bahawa mungkin mereka akan berhadapan dengan “serigala paling buas” di dalam lingkungan kongregasi kita sendiri. “Apa yang anda harus lakukan apabila serigala ini adalah rakan seiman kita?”
