Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Noor Azmi Yusof said police received a call at around 9.30am Saturday from a man complaining about a foul smell from the house.
"We managed to enter the house with the help of the Fire and Rescue Department, and we found an elderly woman lying in the living room," he said. The woman is believed to have been in her 70s, and medical officers at the scene estimated that she had been dead for about five days. "The woman was living alone, and her daughter would come and visit her once a month," ACP Noor Azmi said.The body was sent to Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz for a post-mortem.
