They say the deal is perplexing and leaves many unanswered questions.

Eight former Bar presidents have issued a joint statement criticising the discharge not amounting to acquittal decision involving money laundering charges against Riza Aziz, describing the deal as “perplexing”.

"The information provided thus far gives the impression that there are no good reasons for the withdrawal of the charges and discontinuance of the prosecution,” said the statement which is signed by Zainur Zakaria, Kuthubul Zaman, Yeo Yang Poh, Ambiga Sreenevasan, Ragunath Kesavan, Lim Chee Wee, Christopher Leong and Steven Thiru.

"We are left wondering why the prosecution is seemingly deflecting the responsibility for the decision taken and why Malaysia appears to have been short-changed."

SyedSaddiq Don’t forget. With all other issues they have created which has diverted people’s attention, they continued to offer no logical reason for allowing Riza Aziz to keep 60% of the loot despite his father claiming that the looted money invested in films had produced 3x more return!

SyedSaddiq PH should have jailed him when they were in power.

A thief escapes from high crimes and misdemeanors lowers the Bar for the rest to possibly skip over. A pity it’s falling to deaf ears. Sigh
