JASIN, May 14 — Durian fans, especially those who love premium varieties like Musang King and Black Thorn, will have to deal with an expected 100 per cent price increase during this year’s durian season.
“We believe that the rainy season at the end of March to April has impacted the pollination of durian, which impacts the number of fruits. Besides weather, increased fertiliser and labour costs have also affected the production of the King of Fruits. Prices for the Black Thorn variety are expected to exceed RM100 a kilogramme while Musang King will be priced around RM60 to RM80 a kg depending on grade, compared to RM30 to RM40 a kg previously.
Don't buy...guarantee prices will jatuh. In any case, I can live without durians...no big deal
Creating news for the sake of publicity stunt. There are so many other agricultural products in which everyone consumes daily and prices has been hiking !!!
When the Ministry issues such a prediction, then the sellers will purposely increase the price by 100% even if they don't have to.
Durian busuk
Bukan mati pun kalau tak makan
Supply and demand. Let it be no demand. Then the price down. Sellers will always find reasons. To skyhigh the price
No need to buy. Not a necessity. Let them rot.
Eh.. naikkan je la terus semua harga barang 500% kenapa nk naik sikit2 ni..
No thank you. I’ll stick with mangoes and the like.
Maybe just take a break from durian thsi year
