KotaKinabalu Difahamkan, bot APMM terpaksa mengejar selama 30 minit sehingga kedua-dua bot nelayan Vietnam akur mematuhi arahan untuk berhenti.

Dalam kejadian 5.45 petang itu, kedua-dua bot berkenaan disyaki melakukan aktiviti menangkap ikan secara tunda ganding di kedudukan 29 dan 32 batu nautika perairan Pulau Mengalum, Kota Kinabalu.

Pengarah APMM Sabah dan Labuan, Laksamana Pertama Maritim Mohd Rosli Abdullah berkata, sebaik ditahan, pemeriksaan bot pertama mendapati sijil pendaftaran bot berkenaan sudah tamat dan empat kru serta tekong bot juga tidak mempunyai dokumen perjalanan yang sah. "Seramai 16 kru bot dan seorang tekong warga Vietnam yang ditahan berusia lingkungan 28 hingga 49 tahun," katanya dalam kenyataan media, hari ini.

Menurut Mohd Rosli berkata, kedua-dua bot dan kru yang ditahan diiring balik ke Jeti APMM Sepanggar dan diarahkan menjalani ujian saringan Covid-19 sebaik tiba.
