Drop in Covid-19 cases likely in mid-August

Deputy director-general of health Dr Chong Chee Kheong expects the daily Covid-19 cases to decline in the middle of this month as efforts are made to ramp up the vaccination rate in the Greater Klang Valley. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, July 31, 2021.

THE daily Covid-19 cases may begin to show a downward trend in the middle of this month as efforts are taken to ramp up the vaccination rate in the Greater Klang Valley. Deputy director-general of health Dr Chong Chee Kheong said the prediction is based on the measures taken to curb the pandemic and taking into account the national vaccination programme, which is the key to the country’s success in the fight against the pandemic.
