PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has congratulated national shuttlers Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik who won an Olympic bronze in the men's doubles competition Saturday (July 31).

"Congratulations to Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik for winning the first medal for Malaysia in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games after beating the pair from Indonesia to secure 3rd place," the MCA president posted on his Facebook.

"Despite losing the first set by 17-21, our national heroes bounced back with a 21-17, 21-14 victory. Well done!" said the Transport Minister. Chia and Soh, who are playing in their first Olympics, defeated reigning world champions Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan from Indonesia to secure Malaysia's first medal of Tokyo 2020.
