PETALING JAYA: Malaysia will lobby for support from other International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) member nations to be re-elected to its council for the sixth consecutive term since 2007, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Transport Minister said in a Facebook post on Sunday that he had been briefed on the preparations by his ministry and the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia for this.

"We will be having bilateral meetings on the sidelines throughout the general assembly to lobby for support," said Dr Wee, who is currently in Montreal, Canada for the ICAO General Assembly.
