PETALING JAYA: The Federal and state governments are committed to resolving issues affecting constituents in Slim, especially issues affecting the settlers and Orang Asli, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president said the Barisan Nasional machinery and their allies would not put themselves in the"comfort zone" in the battle for the Slim state constituency in Perak.

"Barisan, PAS, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, and friends of Barisan will work hard to ensure victory," said Dr Wee in a Facebook post on Sunday . Dr Wee attended the launching of the Barisan machinery at Dewan Felda Jaya in Trolak on Sunday, which was opened by coalition chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.Dr Wee said that party machinery had been reminded to strictly observe safety protocols in view of Covid-19 pandemic.

"Together we work, together we muafakat to secure victory for the rakyat especially those in the Slim constituency," he said. The Slim state seat fell vacant after its Barisan assemblyman Mohd Khusairi Abdul Talib succumbed to a heart attack on July 15.Article type: free
